What is this pain?

2/5/2008 · Kategori: Abortus

My dad had a very large, poorly differentiated carcinoid removed from right lung in October along with part of that lung, 4 ribs and lymph nodes. He did very badly on pain meds before and during. Constant frightening hallucinations and utter weakness. He lost so much weight and strength. Once released from hospital and the meds he regained his mental faculties but the weight continued to drop away. 5 weeks later after a scan showed possible hotspots occuring he began chemo treatment Carboplatin and Etoposide. Managed chemo treatments well initially. Actually began gaining weight and exercising. Just before 4th round his blood counts dropped. The exhaustion was back, along with plenty of fear. He's had 3 shots to try to boost them back up. N...

Dad putting up a great fight

2/5/2008 · Kategori: Abortus

Hello everyone,My father is 60 years old, he was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer a year ago this month. According to the doctor at that time, he was in stage 3A 3B and only had possibly two months to live. He has fought a very hard battle. I am so very proud of him. He did radiation which hardened his lung. And he did 14 chemos. He has gone from 225 pounds to 139 pounds. He hasn't had any type of treatment since Oct. He also had cancer of the bronchi, lymph node, and kidney. His last two petscans have come back with wonderful news. No sign of the kidney cancer, (which we were told would only go away with it being removed, that there wasn't anyway to treat it) and everything looks like the cancer is gone. My biggest c...

Recurrent Lung Cancer and Tarceva

2/5/2008 · Kategori: Abortus

My mother has recently been diagnosed with recurrent lung cancer. She was originally diagnosed in 2004 with small cell lung cancer which responded successfully to chemoradiation therapy. Now, she has been diagnosed with NSCLC, stage IIIB, and we have begun treatment with Tarceva as a first line. Has anyone else out there had experience with Tarceva as a front line therapy? Also, how quickly should she begin to see symptoms such as the rash? She has been taking for exactly one week now and of course we are on pins and needles. By the way, Doris is almost 84 years old and still works every single day. What a trooper.Thank you for your response....

Tarceva side effects

2/5/2008 · Kategori: Abortus

My mom started taking Tarceva for lung cancer about 1 week ago and initially got a mild facial rash but now complains about painful areas in the corner of her mouth, inside her nose and the corners of her eyes. I read about these side effects and it looks like people use the Lindi Face Serum to relieve discomfort. But she is also complaining of ulcers on her tongue and gums under her dentures, making eating very painful and is thinking about changeing to puree foods. Does anyone else have this complaint and if so, what helps with this? And has anyone used the Lindi Face Serum for the sore mouth and and eye areas and is it effective? ...
