Confused, Overwhelmed, Any information appreciated
Last week my mother was told she had a tumor on the pancreas. She had been feeling sick and she had her gallbladder removed as it needed to be. A couple of weeks later she was still having pain and they did and ERCP and the doctor said she has a tumor on the head of the pancreas. We asked if the tumor could be benign/non-cancerous and he says no it cant. I did not believe this and check and sure enough they are not all this way. This is bothering me because I wouldn't expect a lie, but what is wrong with well over 95%+ or whatever of the time they are. And I knew either way is not good. So they go on and do the ERCP and do biopsies. This is when we find out it is int he head of the pancreas and learn it is about 21x26mm...

How much more does my mom have to endure
I am at such a loss, so devastated, depleted, and angry. My mom, 80 years of age was diagnosed with P/C. Went through the chemo and radiation with minor side effects. Planned on the whipple at the end of this month. My mom went from a to z in a matter of two weeks. She started feeling unusually fatigued. I urged her to lay down more often. She got weaker and weaker and finally I took her to ER at M.D. And. She was admitted 41/2 days ago. Since then,we have extremely low blood platelets (24), blood clots all over her body which killed her foot and two hands. She is retaining fluids in her lungs and body, Her nose turned from purple to crisp black, her cheeks are in the process of dy...

My dad diagnosed
My dad (81) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November. He is a diabetic and had lost about 35 pounds in the past 6 months. He was to his doctor, who did a CT and it came back ok in May. In November, at my dad's persistance, he did another CT and he had a mass at the head of the pancreas. When they went back to the previous CT, it was there but had been missed. PET scan showed it was localized and had not mets.He is now on Gemzar. He has had his 4th treatment. His thighs and knees are very swollen and he can't get around very well. No one seems to know what is causing this. He may go in the hospital tomorrow to have some fluid taken off and start some physical therapy. ...

Update to 2nd mass post whipples
I went to see my doctor last week, my ultrasound was good..... that was such a relief. But it didnt explain why I am having the problems I am having. We talked in detail about my symptoms. He wants to admit me for a week for testing. He wants to scope me, MRI and blood insulin tests. I might have small masses/tumors/growths on the Islet cells in the pancreas which produce too much hormones. He told me this can be rare but it must be ruled out. He did put me on a new medication for my stomach, and I do admit it is helping, or seems to be. The only thing I didnt like is that he said that he wants to do the week of testing to try and not give me anymore scars on my body. He wanted to admit me right away but I live 6 hours from the city and had...

Issels Treatment
Does anyone have any info on the Issels Treatment Center and if they are a valid organization. We are looking for any and all info on this Clinic....
