SAN CARLOS, Calif. -- Nektar Therapeutics today announced the start of its Phase 2 clinical development program to evaluate NKTR-102 (PEG-irinotecan) as a potential treatment for colorectal cancer. Genetic Testing Can Show Risk For Developing Cancer
Kelli Cundith didn't expect to find anything. She was 30 years old, after all. It was the first time Cundith had done a self-exam. But the lump in her breast was unmistakable. Cundith opted for a lumpectomy and six months of chemotherapy at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, which was followed by seven weeks of radiation in Dothan. She also underwent genetic testing to determine if her cancer may have been inherited. Positive Xeloda Five-year Overall Survival Study Data In The Adj
BARCELONA, Spain -- Five-year follow-up overall survival data from the X-ACT (Xeloda in Adjuvant Colon Cancer Trial) study show that oral chemotherapy Xeloda(R) (capecitabine) is as effective as the current standard treatment - intravenous bolus 5-FU/LV (5-fluorouracil leucovorin) - in the adjuvant treatment of Dukes' C colon cancer. These data were presented today at the 14th European Cancer Conference (ECCO) in Barcelona, Spain. Results show five-year overall survival rates for Xeloda at 71.4 percent compared to 68.4 percent in the 5-FU/LV arm. Strawberry Consumption Associated With C-Reactive Protein Among
WATSONVILLE -- Strawberries are not only delicious and nutrient-rich, new research from Harvard Medical School found that they may offer cardiovascular disease protection.
